About Us

Our History

1908 - 2008: Serving people, businesses, and our communities for 100 years.

Farmers State Bank began as one location in downtown Belvidere, Illinois, and has grown to become the largest locally owned financial institution in Northern Illinois. Now known as Alpine Bank, we operate 14 locations serving over 60,000 families and businesses. We have over $850 million in assets and service 6,900 first mortgages with a dollar value of $620 million. As we have grown over the past 100 years, there have been many changes, but our fundamental mission has remained the same: maintaining great customer service, loyal relationships and a strong commitment to the communities we serve.
